Young Guns
The Engine Rooms Young Guns program is aimed at 7-17 year olds with an interest in listening to and making music. The program enables like-minded young people to be a part of a band and involves a 12 week rehearsal schedule leading up to an evening performance in our very own live room for friends and family.
Our student bands each have their own personal tutors to guide them through the whole experience, all of whom are professionals in their fields. The tutors work closely with each band member to ensure that everybody feels comfortable and enjoys the learning experience.
Our program is incredibly popular as it not only nurtures musical and performance expertise but also encourages social skills, allowing the young people involved to be a proactive member of their group and supporting each individual in the decision making process, all in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
Our Young Guns program runs on a weekly basis and costs £4.70 for each one hour session.
Tickets for Young Guns concerts at the end of the programme are priced at just £4.00 per head. The funds raised by our Young Guns gigs go towards purchasing new equipment for the bands to use.

Showcase Bands
The very best of our Young Guns students progress into one of our Showcase Bands.
Showcase bands meet for rehearsals in exactly the same way as the Young Guns bands do. However, showcase band members gain access to a world of additional opportunity, allowing them to develop as musicians and as fee-earning performers in their own right.
The showcase bands have the opportunity to write and work on their own songs, record their own music and eventually work as professional musicians. Often, showcase bands will be put forward at the Engine Rooms to work as a support act for other bands. We host ‘Showcase Nights’ on a regular basis, where the bands all share the income generated, and we also occasionally book Showcase Bands to play at other venues, again with the bands earning a fee.
